About us

We like to work in partnership with our members and after consultation with you, we are now working hard on the following initiatives:

  • Greater membership involvement via a regularly up-dated website, sponsorship for members and reduced fees for students
  • Establishing and supporting a new wounds research network (WReN), emphasising multidisciplinary working and introducing members to the latest research and knowledge
  • Working with the Department of Health and others to produce Safeguarding Adults Protocol: When Pressure Ulcers require a Safeguarding Enquiry
  • Funding a national audit to determine the outcomes of those pressure ulcers classified as unstageable or ungradeable
  • Close collaboration with our journal’s editorial board and publishers at the Journal of Tissue Viability (JTV)
Completing the national wound audit, since published open access in the JTV
  • Working to raise awareness for those people living with venous leg ulcers who do not but could or should receive compression therapy
  • Providing Foundation and Advanced Study Days in response to requests from members
  • Contributing to guideline consultations including NICE and NPUAP
  • Providing a relevant and exciting annual conference that is a key event within the Tissue Viability calendar in the UK

If you are interested in collaborating with the TVS or have any other ideas or initiatives which you feel that the TVS would be interested in, we would love to hear from you!
